Hey Frugal Gals! Are any of you gardeners? Or maybe Farmer’s Market lovers? I’m starting a linky party on Sunday, Harvest Party, so we can all share our recipes for our Summer’s Bounty!

Today, I have a very special guest, Heather from Inexpensively is sharing some great Free and Frugal Fun ideas for Kids.

Welcome Heather!

We are almost halfway through our summer, and I have really enjoyed finding free and frugal ways to entertain the kids each week.

Here are a few of our favorites:

• Concerts: Parks, museums and churches frequently sponsor free summer concerts. Last week, my girls had the opportunity to see Allstar Weekend live at our children’s museum. They were also blessed with a meet ‘n greet – the band is a lot of fun, extremely gracious and has created fans for life in our house!
• Movies: There are a few weeks left in the summer movie clubs at theaters across the country. We also enjoy popping popcorn & creating our own movie marathons when it’s rainy or just too hot to venture outdoors! (Check out Target’s $1 bin for fun red& white popcorn tubs!)
• Kitchen Fun: I’m letting the girls take part in our meal planning and make fun treats. Last week, we made homemade baggie ice cream to celebrate National Ice Cream Month.
• Simple Pleasures: We have flown kites, drawn on the sidewalks with chalk, roasted hot dogs & marshmallows in the backyard fire pit and played kickball with my entire extended family.

I’ll soon be finding frugal ways to get the kids geared up for back to school, but for now, we’re excited about what the rest of the summer holds!

Heather Sokol is the married mother of 3 beautiful, active girls. She loves finding frugal ways to keep them busy. Heather shares her money saving tips, deals and grocery lists daily so others can live inexpensively.
